The IJB Group and Combex Logistiek have been working together for many years in the transport of piles and other prefab foundation products from the factory locations in Lemmer and (since more recently) Kampen and Lelystad. Great importance is attached here to mutual respect and reinforcing the close working partnership.
Transport is after all not only an important part of our daily business operations but also a crucial aspect in achieving our sustainability goals. It is partly because of this that the IJB Group and Combex entered into a partnership in 2018. We had already been working closely together before this, but the partnership was officially established five years ago.
Every week, Combex carries out some 500 deliveries for the IJB Group. In view of these many transport movements, there is much potential in the area of sustainability. And so on 31 January 2023, together with Combex, we proudly took an important step in our efforts towards a sustainable future when we acquired the Volvo FMX Electric. Since 1 February 2023, this fully electric lorry has been specifically used for transporting our prefab foundation products within a 150-km radius of our factories.
This lorry thereby helps in the construction logistics to reduce the emissions of harmful substances, such as CO2 and nitrogen. In the coming years, this will be given the highest priority in our sector and consequently also in our business operations.
